The Veterans Day parade will take place at 11am on Main Street, with a free lunch to follow at about noon at the VFW (donations welcome!) RAPID CITY, S.D. – People and floats made their way down Main Street for the Veterans Day Parade Friday. Led by the Rapid City Police Department, organizations and individuals participated in the parade including Black Hills Energy, Miss South Dakota and the Rapid City Fire Department. On the official holiday, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1273 will celebrate with the return of their parade. Despite a potential for inclement weather, parade officials are ready for a large turnout. Don’t miss this chance to pay tribute to our veterans and active-duty military. The ceremony culminates in a vibrant parade downtown, where the community comes together to celebrate and recognize those who have selflessly defended our nation.
