Please join us Friday at a Veterans Day ceremony on the UW campus in Seattle to honor veterans from our University community for their service in the U.S. armed forces. At the ceremony, Dr. John Hess, ’72 — a U.S. Army colonel — will receive the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Veteran Award. You receive holiday credit when a holiday falls on your regularly scheduled day off. Full-time employees receive eight hours credit. Part-time, regularly scheduled employees receive a prorated amount based on their FTE. The Washington State Council of Presidents provides the Holiday and Observance Calendar adhered to by the University of Washington. Next week, we commemorate Veterans Day on Nov. 11, and in the days leading up to and following the commemoration, our three campuses will offer a variety of opportunities to honor the valor and contributions of those who have served in our nation’s armed forces.
